Image
Press Release To: Dr. Bosun Tijani, Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy Must Go. The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS), expresses deep disappointment with your poor performance as Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy. For over a year, your office has failed to meet the expectations of Nigerian youths and students, and today, we openly declare our rejection of your leadership. Our major concerns are clear: 1. Failure to Secure Citizens’ Data Under your watch, Nigerians’ sensitive personal information such as NIN, BVN, passports, driver’s licenses and more were carelessly exposed and even sold online for as little as ₦200. This is a direct betrayal of public trust and shows gross failure in protecting citizens’ digital identities. 2. Collapse of the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Program What was announced as a beacon of hope for Nigerian youths has turned into disappointment. Training partners have compl...

A New Dawn for Oriade Students: Historic Bursary Disbursement and Empowerment Initiative by Hon. Kanmi Ajibola

Image
On behalf of the Oriade Student Union, I extend sincere appreciation to Honourable Barr. Kanmi Ajibola, the distinguished Member representing Oriade Local Government at the Osun State House of Assembly, for his outstanding financial support to students across our local government. It seems just like yesterday when I led a delegation of the Oriade Student Union to his office at the House of Assembly to present three key requests: *bursaries for students, an entrepreneurship summit, and ICT employment opportunities*.  With humility and commitment, Hon. Kanmi Ajibola promised to work on fulfilling these pressing needs — and true to his word, he delivered. Friday, 15th August 2025, marked a historic moment in Oriade’s educational landscape.  For the first time ever, a serving member of the House of Assembly from Oriade facilitated bursary disbursements to students.  But the day didn’t end there, it also featured a robust entrepreneurship training session for attendees. In one...

PRESS STATEMENT BY THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF POLYTECHNIC STUDENTS (NAPS) ON FRSC DIRECTIVES TO IMPOYUND STUDENT VEHICLES.

Image
February 5th, 2025 The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS), in unwavering solidarity with our sister body, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), condemns in the strongest terms the directive issued by the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, instructing officers to impound vehicles belonging to NANS structures nationwide. This directive is not only reckless and provocative but also an outright declaration of war on Nigerian students. We consider this an insult to the collective integrity of the student movement, and we will not stand idly by while our rights are trampled upon. Mobility is a fundamental necessity for our advocacy and representation, and any attempt to cripple our movement is a direct assault on the students of this nation. While we recognize the FRSC’s mandate to ensure road safety, we categorically reject any attempt to single out student organizations for intimidation. If the FRSC thinks it can fle...
